American production company Double Lenses, Inc. has recently finalized an option agreement with Xlibris author Chelsea Ashe to adapt her book “Happy Hour Stories” into a movie. The novel was presented to participating agents, producers, and studio executives at the Author Solutions Las Vegas Book-to-Screen PitchFest in February 2014. The event is aimed at connecting self-published authors with key Hollywood decision makers.
“We are thrilled to be working with Chelsea and think that Happy Hour Stories has a lot of potential in today’s marketplace,” said Double Lenses Inc.
“I am so excited and blessed to have this opportunity and cannot wait to see what the future holds for Happy Hour Stories and the option,” Ashe noted. “I am looking forward to working with Double Lenses, Inc. and want to thank them and Author Solutions so much for all of their help, exposure, and support throughout this process … Book-to-Screen PitchFest was one of the most rewarding, challenging, and amazing experiences, and I would recommend it to any author looking to expand their network and share their ideas,” she added.
Author Solutions Director of Media Services Caroline Weiss believes the event is “truly a unique opportunity in the supported self-publishing space … It’s exciting to provide this platform to help authors who believe in their works and have invested so much in their projects to connect with production professionals who are actively seeking fresh ideas for film and television.”
The next Book-to-Screen PitchFest event is slated for October 16 to 17, 2015, at the New York Marriot Marquis Hotel on Broadway in Times Square.
