An adventurous spirit leads one to live multiple lives in a range of bold endeavors as a voracious reader explores endless worlds in stacks of books. As demonstrated by well-known writers, a dedicated storyteller should be an adventurous spirit and a bookworm to honor and enrich the craft.

Having published a four-book series with Xlibris, author Linda P. Young must be both. The prolific author has already finished writing book 5 of The Adventures of Anna and Andy Hummingbird, whereas book 6 is in the pipeline. Brimming with more ideas, she intends to write and publish a total of 10 books in the series. Linda also bagged her first literary award at the Hollywood Festival of Books. Driven by this achievement, she plans to submit her books to more children’s book awards and attend book fairs.
An overview of Xlibris Book ‘The Adventures of Anna and Andy Hummingbird’
Linda gives a snippet of and the inspiration behind her book.
Anna and Andy grew up amongst the three large Mulberry trees we have in our back yard they grew up to become wonderful adults and will live forever in my memory. These books are about the fun hummingbirds seem to have. Some of the adventures are based on actual events and some are fanciful. We would always name the hummingbirds that stayed here all year round. They are Pushy, Pip, Squeaky, Dartman, and Hood just to name a few. I am a grandmother of five wonderful children and they always enjoy watching the hummingbirds with me and my husband Jerry. This book was written for them.
Creative inspiration further fueled by imagination
I have written four books about The Adventures of Anna and Andy Hummingbird. Many of the adventures are real and some are my imagination gone wild. There are pictures of Anna and Andy on my website….they are real. Xlibris is my publisher.

Linda also talked about her literary achievements and book events.
I recently was an Honorable Mention at the Hollywood Festival of Books. This is my first noted award. I also have them entered into the Moonbeam Children’s Books Award. I am anxious for that one too. I know the books are good and of course the more exposure I get, the better. There will be 10 books in the series. Four have been published. Book 5 is already written and book 6, underway.
I do readings at schools and the children seem to love the books and always want to know more about Anna and Andy. I recently attended the Tucson Book Festival and that was very good exposure. I will do it again next year. In November, I will be doing the Las Vegas Children’s Book Festival, which I always look forward to attending. This will be my third year.
