A writer brings to his or her work an imprint distinct from the others just as writing salves every writer’s pain in different ways. For Xlibris author Joseph Frazier, writing has become his way to right his wrongs. He chose Xlibris’ supported self-publishing services to to get a new lease on life through his debut novel Life on the Run released in June this year.

Joseph takes the center stage here on the Xlibris Blog and talks about his craft and his creative process.
On his writing inspiration
When I write, I go into the world of my imagination and create the situations of my choice. I’ve been exposed to the good, the bad, and the ugly along with the beautiful, the shady, the evil, and the kind-hearted, and it all left memories that I can remix into the way I want it to be. I have an outgoing personality that connects with an attractive sense of humor that turns myself on as I write. This talent is a blessing, but it took me to settle down to figure out who I was as a writer and memories helped out a lot because I went back to the love letters I used to write females during times of my vacations. I used to get positive responses from how detailed my messages were and at the same time I realized I was painting pictures as I was writing.
Self-publishing through Xlibris
I decided to become published because I believe in my work. I wish to be known as well, so I can afford to create the perfect space for this kind of talent because you need peace in order for your mind to travel.
An overview of his self-published Xlibris book
Life on the Run narrates the life of Amin who skips his first day of school to play hooky with his classmate Damein. Amin’s delinquency embroils him in a sticky situation. He “gets caught up in the web of love, greed and murder that ejects him out of his innocence then lands him on a point of no return.”
According to Joseph, Amin’s quandary depicts “humanity’s struggle to better itself,” as well as the consequences of living a life on the run. The author, however, reminds us of the light at the end of the tunnel: that there is always a way out.
