Xlibris Turns 18 and We Want YOU To Celebrate with Us!
You are invited to join the party by sharing with us your story in exactly 18 words! Write down your original flash fiction story on the Xlbris Facebook page, and we’ll pick the entry that says a lot in just a few words.
Show us your writing chops and get the chance to be a published Xlibris author or be featured on the Xlibris Blog. The first 18 stories submitted will be posted on our FB page as Finalists; and from the group of Finalists, a Grand Prize winner and a Second Place winner will be chosen by a team of judges. The Grand Prize winner wins a publishing package; and the Second Place winner wins a special feature page on the Xlibris Blog. Deadline for submission of entries is extended until April 24, 2015. Contest and judging runs from April 10, 2015 through April 30, 2015 .
Contest mechanics/guidelines:
- Xlibris and all Author Solutions LLC and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, assigns, advertising, promotional and fulfillment agents, attorneys, and other representatives and the persons with whom each of the above are domiciled are not eligible to enter the contest..
- Entrants must be at least 18 years of age or older as of April 10, 2015.
- Each entrant may submit only one (1) entry in the contest. If an entrant submits more than one entry, only the first entry submitted will be judged. Participants are required to send their complete name, address, phone number, and email address to Xlibris via Facebook private message. Xlibris will not share the entrants’ information with third parties. Failure to provide contact details disqualifies the entrant. By entering the contest, Entrants consent to Xlibris and its affiliates contacting them by telephone and/or email regarding their services and agree that calls may be monitored and/or recorded by Xlibris and its affiliates for quality assurance or other business purposes.
- The use of profane language is prohibited.
- Xlibris reserves the right to confirm, at any time, the validity or originality of entries and the identity of entrants, and to disqualify those who fail to comply with the contest rules.
- The first eighteen (18) entries sent in through the comment box will be posted on the Xlibris Facebook page. The Grand Prize winner and Second Place winner will be chosen from this pool. Should any of these entries fail to complete guidelines, they shall be disqualified and the next stories sent according to timestamp shall be chosen. Entries will be judged by a team of judges according to the following criteria:
a) Originality (25%);
b) Creativity (50%); and
c) Number of Facebook likes (25%).
- The Grand Prize winner wins an Xlibris Black & White Basic or Full Color Basic self-publishing package; the Second Place winner will be featured in an article on the Xlbris Blog. Grand Prize winner must sign Xlibris’ Self Publishing Services Agreement in order to be eligible for the Grand Prize.
- Prize winners will be notified by a post of their winning stories on our FB wall and by email.
- Entrants grant Xlibris a non-exclusive license to use the entries in any manner it chooses on its FB page, as well as other social media and websites.
- Offer void where prohibited or restricted by law. Federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
