Dreams are essential to keep a writer’s imagination up and running. They fan the flames of his/her poetry and prose. While these dreams may seem outrageous to some, the writer believes in their infinite possibilities.

Xlibris author MJ Domet is a big dreamer whose book Waves Of Blue Light: Heal the Heart and Free the Soul realized her writing goal and sent positive vibes to readers. Self-published through Xlibris in 2012, the book won a gold medal in the 2012 Living Now Books of the Year and in the 2013 Beverly Hills Book Awards Spiritual: Self Help category. The multi-awarded author was also named Inspirational Author of the Year 2012.
MJ shares her dreams on the Xlibris Blog, to send her waves of blue light and optimism and to heal more hearts and free more souls.
No regrets
The experience of writing, publishing and promoting my work has been rewarding, fulfilling and often frustrating. At the beginning of this monumental journey, there were occasions when I thought how much easier my life seemed before the book; but those glimpses are extremely rare these days as I realize the inconceivability and undesirability of going back – the old self is gone and unlearning what I now know is, thankfully, impossible.
Every level of my being resonates with the rightness of who I am, of the words I have written, the people whom I have inspired and who have motivated me in return, and the steps I have taken to get here.
Self-publishing through Xlibris
When my book, Waves Of Blue Light: Heal The Heart And Free The Soul, got to the publishing stage, the thought of proceeding in any direction other than to self -publish never crossed my mind. The ease, the control over my work, and the ability to market on my own terms attracted me to independent publishing.
Literary achievements and realizations
Winning the Beverly Hills Book Award in the Self Help: Spiritual Category this year, solidified for me that my book, Waves Of Blue Light: Heal The Heart And Free The Soul, is manifesting my vision of its impact into reality and empowering people to live an exceptional life by letting go of the residue of their past and encouraging them to move forward embracing all of life without judging themselves or their experiences.
In some ways, this second award for the same book (after receiving a gold medal for Living Now “Spirit “ Book of The Year 2012), is more meaningful as it is clarification for me that my writing is making an impact. With recognition coming from several sources, the validation that my message to readers is also making a contribution in the literary world perpetrates an incredible sense of belief in myself and my writing. The first book award gave me confidence and credibility. The second has given me permission to identify myself as a writer.
I have recognized myself as an author for some time, as I have written and presented workshops and seminars before attempting my first book and becoming published; but the awards I have been given by the writing community have cemented my belief in myself as a writer. It shows me that people like and respect what I have written. These acknowledgements encourage me to write more and the more I write, the better I become at it.
My writing is influenced by the passion I feel for helping people overcome life challenges and seeing themselves as worthy, capable and loveable in all situations. When your writing is aligned with what you are passionate about, the rewards just keep on appearing – not only in the form of physical accolades – but also in ways which stir the heart and awaken previously undiscovered possibilities.
