More than being Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles has made a name for himself. He is instrumental to the success of the famed trio “Destiny’s Child,” which his daughter was once a member of and which he also once managed. The group became Beyoncé’s stepping stone to becoming one of the most influential artists in the music industry. He was also the manager of his other singer daughter Solange Knowles.
He now shares his success philosophy in his book, “The DNA of Achievers: 10 TRAITS OF HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL PROFESSIONALS,” published through Xlibris this year.
Once named the “No. 1 salesman in the world at Xerox,” he quit his job to manage the popular trio in the 90s. His advice is drawn from his own experiences in business and management. The 10 traits he highlights in his book are passion, vision, work ethic, team building, planning, talk-to-do ratio, risk taking, learning from failure, giving back, and thinking outside the box.
Adam Gabbatt, a writer/presenter for UK’s online newspaper the Guardian recently interviewed Mathew about his book. Read more about the article here.
