The month-long Xlibris Flash Fiction writing contest has ended on a high note, attracting several would-be writers from different countries.
Out of the selected 18 entries unveiled last month, two entrants bested the rest. David C. Lowery was chosen the grand prize winner, while Sarah Stanley bagged the second place. For their prizes, David gets an Xlibris publishing package, and Sarah, a feature article here on the Xlibris Blog.
The contest was launched in celebration of Xlibris’ 18th anniversary. Entrants were given the chance to show off their succinct writing skills by composing an original flash fiction story in only 18 words. The first 18 entries submitted were posted on Xlibris’ official Facebook page and were judged according to the following criteria:
Originality (25%), Creativity (50%), and Number of Facebook likes (25%).
Here are their winning entries:
Grand Prize winner David C. Lowery
Second Place winner Sarah Stanley
Congratulations and thank you to David and Sarah, and to all the entrants for being a part of this Xlibris milestone!
