Xlibris Author VJ Parker gives aspiring authors her writing tips and expresses her enthusiasm over publishing with Xlibris.

VJ’s Writing Tips
Never let an idea escape. One never knows when notes on paper will come in handy. Notes on scraps of paper, quirky quotes or poems can form part of a story’s direction. One never knows when an idea will hit. That’s what makes writing fun.
When the Twin Realms first started, it was only intended to be published as a single book. As time went by, all the little bits came together and some new directions came into play. The story is now a three-part series that may further branch out into more stories.
I also enjoy people watching at the park and doing other seemingly mundane activities, such as walking the dog or shopping. As long as you enjoy what you’re doing, keep doing it.
Observing people can help create characters. A small stutter, a facial twitch, the act of opening a door for a young lady can introduce you to many different characters. I remember manners instilled to me and people I met when I was young. Gildfeather’s mannerisms were inspired by a friend who is very polite and very good in delivering speech when play acting. Eagle is from a boy I liked and with whom I spent playing chess many a lunch break during my primary school days.
Here is hoping you enjoy the walk in the Twin Realm series, where anything is possible, and dreams do come true.
Ms Parker has other hobbies besides reading and writing. She also loves to play bridge with some wonderful people who may one day find themselves in her stories. Her bonsai plants also widen her story ideas.
Self-publishing with Xlibris
