Xlibris Publishing introduces Corrie Gilmour, author of Adventure in Ancient Azorka.
Who is the author “behind” the book?
I am the author-Corrie Gilmour- my personal background would be an appreciation for saving the Planets resources which I felt I did during 22 years in the Plastics Industry. I have used my communication skills in College and sales, and have recently assembled a training course for inside sales people in the home heating business in British Columbia.
What inspired you to write your book, and how long did it take you to finish it?
I was inspired by my curiosity with the World’s wonders-like the pyramids and Tesla’s inventions.
What is the one message you would like to convey to your readers?
That we can avoid war on this planet through dialogue and understanding-for example-The Ukraine situation or returning Crimea to the Ukraine. To us it may look like an invasion-To Russia it may look like an espionage event that will lead to harm and suffering of the Ukraine people and Russian people who live in the Ukraine. Always remembering (but seldom reporting to the people) that Russia gave the Ukraine Crimea in 1954. Why would the Ukraine want to separate itself economically from this neighbor for the dim possibilities of the EU.
Are you working on a sequel to your book?
I am presently working on part 2 in order to conclude book 1-next will be book 2 part one -the year will be 1788 -there are ten books planned -book 1-to-book 5 in 10 parts.
Are there any events, marketing ideas or promotions planned for your book?
It is true that a Greek sailor has found what he thinks is a pyramid off the coast of Sao Miguel in the Azores. It sits on the bottom of the ocean and the story is one year old now. Not sure how I could piggyback my marketing on the back of this story. Otherwise I plan to introduce my book in my own neighborhood.
What was your favorite part of your publishing experience, overall and with Xlibris?
The polite responses the courteous staff and the team that assembled my art work providing a blue sky when I could not for the cover and “tactfully” placing the front covers lettering. They were always complimentary towards my art when I’m sure they have seen better. Xlibris has a remarkable team working for you and I’ll need them again shortly.
Finally, what advice would you give to aspiring authors?
Please educate yourselves on what the publishing industry does and the language they use. You will be able to communicate your needs better. Please double check your spelling as some programs will not be able to distinguish between desert or dessert-then or than.
Don’t be afraid to be creative and bold. Try to leave religion out of your stories and think of yourself as a member of a multicultural world. Try not to offend.

Hi Corrie Gilmour,
I just read your Xlibris blog on facebook. I think I would be more than interested to learn more about AZORKA. I have always been fascinated with ancient cultures. I also have a blog with Xlibris. My novel TWO WORLDS is a romantic, humorous and adventurous, speculative/sci/fi story about an ancient Greek culture on Mars. The people within this culture are afraid of the conflict on Earth and the constant wars on our planet…so, they set out to bring peace to our planet. To know more, about my books, google up Noeline Slowgrove Writer then go to google results on my three books. Many of the stories deal peace and the short comings of the leaders of our planet.
Good luck with your book ADVENTURE IN ANCIENT AZORKA ….and may you have many sales….and in doing so, bringing your ideals of peace to the minds of your readers.
