Xlibris Publishing returns with Christopher Maskey, author of It Shall Be Given.
What is the one message you would like to convey to your readers?
Jesus Christ is the answer. This is fitting for anything in your life – Jesus is the answer, the ONLY answer. Inside my book “It Shall Be Given”, I talk in great detail all of the terrible things that were going on in my life and how turning to Jesus was my only answer in survival.
Are you working on a sequel to your book?
There won’t be any sequel to “It Shall Be Given”. The ending of this book is written to transition the reader into a type of new beginning for them and their relationship with Jesus Christ. I hope that after reading this book people will be inspired to write about their own personal stories praising the Lord and telling others how Jesus Christ has saved them as well.
Are there any events, marketing ideas or promotions planned for your book? Please feel free to mention any accolades you have received.
Being fully inspired and driven by the Holy Spirit, I realize that there is a higher power behind this book and I will ultimately leave that up to God to decide how it should be marketed. As stated before, this is my first publication so I am very much new to the whole process but would love any suggestions or insight as to how to better promote this book and help bring others closer to the Lord.
What was your favorite part of your publishing experience, overall and with Xlibris?
So far the entire process for me has been enjoyable to say the least. The Xlibris representatives have been helpful and informative throughout the entirety of the book publication process. I honestly believe the Lord is helping to use the right people needed to complete this book and the staff at Xlibris is playing an important part in it all.
Finally, what advice would you give to aspiring authors?
I can only speak on aspiring authors who are interested in writing Christian literature, because that’s all I have any experience in. My advice for someone who is contemplating writing something in the Christian genre is to first pray. Before I sat down and started to write anything I prayed frequently asking the Lord to help and lead me during the entire process. The difference between writing a Christian book and any other book is that when writing a book glorifying Jesus Christ you NEED to be sure that we are truly influenced by the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. Praying about the book and its contents will absolutely give you clarity on exactly what God wants done. I look forward to seeing more of you publishing books in these terrible times we are living in, glorifying the King, Jesus Christ.
