Today’s blog contributor goes by the name of “April.” Having her as one of our guest bloggers in this month of April is such a pleasant coincidence.

Grateful for life’s blessings, Xlibris author April Tiang seizes the day and considers each day the prime of her life. She has self-published two inspirational books with the leading Indiana-based company Xlibris in 2012 – proof enough of her zest and positive outlook.
The vibrant author of Age Does Not Define Me: I Do! and The Opera Singer’s Daughter moves us with her self-imposed life makeover, knowing that she alone is responsible for changing her life for the better.
A Life-Changing Decision Leads to Writing, Pleasant Surprises
As I looked around me, the rich essence of our very existence lies in experiencing all that life has to offer. When one is born, life began as a pure unblemished canvas and will be slowly filled with each event that happened to each of us, whether happy, sad or otherwise. The final canvas piece, to some extent, can be controlled by you if you wish for it.
I have never considered writing a book in my life, let alone two in 2012. It happened because I have to share my ability to make my own life better in my own terms. I did not want to look my age, I wanted to look better, and have a lighter body simply because it will be harder for my frame to carry the weight and to preempt that and the associated ills. I tried ways and found them effective and questioned some of the established concepts like dieting and ways to combat weight. I found that there are many methods to deal with each issue unique to one, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Also, I realized that by overcoming some of the issues, I feel better and encouraged to seek solutions from others. One of the main impediments to happiness is relationships problems. This is when I feel that many of us are too occupied with the issues, and probably did not seek out solutions, so I would like to encourage people that you can have a better QUALITY life and wrote AGE DOES NOT DEFINE ME: I DO!
After returning from the pilgrimage to La Camino in July last year, I was preparing to fulfill a lifelong trip back to my parents’ homeland in China after 60 years. I remembered the sufferings of my parents especially, my grandmother and my mother. If they had not made the sacrifices to leave their homeland, I would never have the life that I know now. I recorded some of the injustices suffered by women in the early days and how some of them overcame the odds to have a better life for themselves, but more so for their families. I wrote THE OPERA SINGER’S DAUGHTER as a tribute to all mothers and women all over the world.
The Xlibris Blog admires author April Tiang for her optimism shared to women of all ages. Likewise, we believe her books can be a good read for all men out there.
