Xlibris Publishing introduces Gillian Wells, author of The Amazing Adventures of Bub and Tub.
l
My book is called The Amazing Adventures of Bub and Tub and is about, a small black and white dog Tub and his friend Bub a small grey pony. They belong to start with to a little girl and they live in the outback on a cattle station. They watch out for their human family but the humans don’t realise this. There are other animal too and they all talk to each other and get into all sorts of mischief and scrapes.
I don’t have any particular author that I relate to regarding this book as it started by accident really. I was putting my grandchildren to bed one night and I made up a story to tell them instead of reading them one. When I was at boarding school I used to tell the others in the dormitory stories after lights out so I suppose it’s always been in me though I have never really had the time to write until recent years.
Because it’s really a collection of stories, I have taken about three years to finish it. The stories are in sequence and there is progression as there would be in a normal book so in a way its like snap shots of the family of animals and humans.
Some of the stories relate to concerns that children sometimes have, for example Emily the little girl in the book goes through a phase of being afraid of the dark and I have written a story where she gets over it with the help of Tub and her Dad. Several stories are like that only, with different worries that children have or parents too for that matter.
I have written a few more stories and an adult book but so far have done nothing with them.
As of yet no promotions are in place, but friends and family are very encouraging.
The most exciting thing will be when I actually receive the book in my hand. Xlibris have been very supportive and full of good advice.
If you want to write give it a go. If you have a story to tell go for it, it’s fun and rewarding.
